Lara Toronto

The Longboat Area Resident's Association was formed in 1982 and serves as a voice for the residents of this unique downtown Toronto community situated between Toronto's famous St. Lawrence Market & Distillery District.


Who We are

Situated between Parliament & Lower Sherbourne Streets, the Longboat Area Resident's Association (LARA Toronto) represents 140 households and acts as a community voice in city & municipal matters.

The LARA board consists of neighbourhood individuals who volunteer their time by meeting monthly to address community concerns, host community events & represent LARA on various FOSTRA boards which help shape the city's future.FOSTRA - Federation Of South Toronto Residents Associations (which includes five downtown Toronto Wards and represent in excess of 400,000 residents).


Key Initiatives

Here are some of the important neighbourhood issues LARA has been Involved With:

LARA is a member of
St. Lawrence Neighborhood Association
AND
Federation of South Toronto Residents' Associations
LARA is working with Metrolinx and Metrolinx Ontario Line during the planning and building process to keep the disruptions to our neighbourhood as few as possible while Metrolinx is trying to ensure the construction of a vital regional transit system.
